A legal battle between California’s Department of Motor Vehicles and Tesla began in a Bay Area courtroom Monday.
The DMV claims the electric vehicle maker misled consumers and regulators regarding its autopilot capabilities.
A rally of those supporting the DMV’s case against Tesla outside an Oakland courthouse included 58 makeshift tombstones to signify the number of people who lost their lives in crashes involving Tesla’s autopilot.
