Waymo thinks it is public transportation
More proof that Waymo driving system doesn’t follow the laws, and gets its passengers into quite dangerous situations. In Phoenix, the Waymo drove onto physically separated light rail tracks, with a train just behind. The passenger wisely gets out of the errant car even though it was in the middle of the street.
Also note how a teleoperator takes over the vehicle and wrongly has it go in reverse. Shows that teleoperation is ineffective for keeping a Waymo out of trouble, and also for getting it out of trouble once it has made an egregious mistake.
