Yes, it was just a faked presentation. Just awful.

Yes, it was just a faked presentation. Just awful.

NPR does some excellent reporting before the Tesla "robotaxi reveal" event on October 10th. Key point is that Musk has consistently promised robotaxis next year, for years!

Andrew Hawkings at the Verge wrote a truly great article on how the Tesla "robotaxi reveal" will be a joke.

Tesla is "revealing" their robotaxi system in just a few days, on October 10th. But things are going quite badly for them. They really need a great hype event. So what is going to happen when their event turns out to be a disappointing flop???

SF Examiner reports on how Waymo is using a charity as a cynical marketing ploy. They are using Waymo vehicles to deliver food for a charity. Of course to deliver food you need a human driver. If Waymo really wants to make a charitable contribution, they should simply donate money directly to the organization.

Jalopnik reports on how Tesla will continue to NOT be able to use FSD in the Las Vegas tunnel. Some form of driver assistance, yes, but not FSD. And this is the technology that robotaxis are to be based on?

CNBC reports that at the World Robot Conference many humanlike robots were doing various activities. But the Tesla Optimus Robot was stationary, in a plastic box, not even powered on. This is a preview of the Tesla robotaxi unveiling, which, if it ever happens, will be another Elon Musk farce.

Bloomberg reports on how the vaporware robotaxi demo originally schedules for August 8th did of course not happen. Plus the whole robotaxi concept appears to simply be a diversion to boost up Tesla stock prices. And it has worked! Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was killed by a Tesla driver using FSD.

CNN reports on how an analyst from Truist Securities took up Elon Musk's statement that doubters of FSD should test-drive it. It did not work out well.

NY Times reports on how Elon Musk's claim of Tesla magically creating robotaxis is completely detached from reality. Also, analysis don't even see how Waymo could turn robotaxis into a profitable business.

Business Insider reports on the Q2 earnings call, and how Tesla investors are not happy with the situation. Elon Musk is definitely feeling the heat, though continues to spout falsehoods about the alleged Tesla robotaxi.

Michael Smith digs into the GM Q2 2024 financial returns and finds out that the financial situation of Cruise is far more precarious than presented.

TechCrunch reports that a new date of October 10th has been set for the Tesla robotaxi "unveiling". Unanswered is whether this "unveiling" will be even more embarassing than the Tesla robot mime one.

Fortune reports on Cathie Wood still being absurdly bullish on Tesla stock based on Musk's false promises of robotaxis, robots, and AI.

Electrek reports on Elon Musk's dubious claims that the 8/8 robotaxi event had to be delayed due to him asking for "front end changes".
